ELCOTEQ WINS SMT VISION AWARD FOR CONTRACT SERVICES
Elcoteq received the SMT 2009 VISION Award in the category of Contract Services for its Management of Corporate Responsibility program on March 30, 2009 in a ceremony during the APEX trade show at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, Las Vegas, NV. The SMT VISION Awards recognize the people and products within the surface mount industry that serve as benchmarks of excellence. Sponsored by SMT magazine and in its 17th year, the award honors the finest examples of creative advancement in technology.
Elcoteq’s Corporate Responsibility initiative takes a proactive approach to comply with the principles of sustainable development based on the company’s core values. Its services support original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and all stakeholders to ensure compliance of corporate responsibility standards in operations throughout the whole supply chain, encompassing economic, social, and environmental requirements in different countries. Elcoteq reduces the OEM’s burden to deal with vendors on these issues and expedites the necessary steps. By outsourcing part of their product’s value chain to Elcoteq, these OEMs can concentrate on their core business, such as customer relations, brand management, and developing more sophisticated and innovative products. Their supply chains can be also optimized without incurring restructuring costs and within a more guaranteed time frame.
Award recipients are selected by a panel of industry experts who evaluate each submission based on how it relates to innovation, cost effectiveness, speed/throughput improvements, quality contribution, ease of use, maintainability and repairability, and technological advancement.
