Elcoteq hosts booth at Reverse Logistics Show in Las Vegas
The RLA (Reverse Logistics) trade show is the largest show dedicated to the reverse logistics industry. Reverse logistics deals with the complete end to end process of returning goods for any reason once they leave the manufacturing plant. The RLA has three trade shows per year; in Las Vegas, Amsterdam and Singapore. The show in Las Vegas is the largest industry trade show. This 2009’s show was Elcoteq’s first time hosting a booth.
Elcoteq’s AMS organization plays a significant role in this process and far more than just the repair of the goods as many may think. It also includes complex logistics channels, multiple value added solutions, parts management, end of life management, warranty management and many more for products we may not manufacture.
All in all reverse logistics, or After Market Services, is a highly complex supply chain that requires a great deal of industry knowledge and experience to be able to provide solutions that attract and support customers. Amongst other things, this show helps develop relationships with other suppliers to build partnerships to be able to provide those pieces of the supply chain that are not our core competence.
Although the show was not as well attended as had been anticipated there were still about 500 companies represented ranging the entire reverse logistics supply chain from OEMs to scrap and recycling. Having a booth at the show was a success as it let attendees who may not know Elcoteq understand who we are and that we are in the AMS business.
