Early involvement drives better quality
Product innovations need to be realized quickly before new technology renders them obsolete and the total product cycle - design to manufacture - must be improved to gain the required quality at reasonable cost. Early partnership between design and manufacturing is proving to be very effective in shortening the product development cycle. Continuous feedback and flexibility within the partner network ensures improved quality of the assembled product with significant cost savings.
Development cycle risks for the client would be reduced greatly with early involvement of the partner network as this will ensure a good working relationship between design and manufacturing. This product and process focus achieves three areas of improvement:
1. Simplified design and minimized number of possible defective parts and assembly errors enable declining costs related to purchasing, stocking, assembly, and servicing.
2. Flexibility for assembly and testing are incorporated at the concept design stage.
3. Reduction of the costs of the final product by early emphasis on major costs before the design is finalized.
With early involvement, Elcoteq’s clients have achieved better quality of design and avoided unnecessary costs all the way through to manufacturing.
